Scantech Geoscience is a dedicated Ground Penetrating Radar (GPR) Service Company providing services to the following industries in Ireland and abroad.

  • Construction/Engineering
  • Environmental
  • Archaeological/Forensic
  • Geological and Mining
  • Financial/Insurance

GPR is a nondestructive geophysical method that produces a continuous cross-sectional profile of subsurface features, without drilling, probing, or digging. GPR is the highest resolution technology available for subsurface imaging. The data is used for evaluating the location and depth of buried objects (metallic & non-metallic) and to investigate the presence and continuity of natural and man-made subsurface conditions and features.

Benefits of Ground Penetrating Radar for subsurface investigations

  • Risk reduction.
  • Non destructive. (no damage or mess)
  • Non disruptive. (equipment is quiet & compact)
  • Cost effective.
  • Portable. (equipment can be hand-held, hand-towed or vehicle mounted)
  • Rapid coverage of large areas.
  • Safe. (all equipment carries CE mark)
  • Locate and map subsurface objects (metallic, PVC, concrete, ceramic, etc)
  • Locate and map voids and fractures
  • Map subsurface material changes and layer thickness
  • Accurately located results produced on site or imported into CAD/GIS
  • Depth to target estimation
